Foundational concepts and approaches of various research methodologies will be introduced as ways of knowledge building to inform practice and influence policy within rural, remote and Indigenous contexts. Particular emphasis will be directed to the development of skills in critiquing published research studies through examination of design limitations, ethical issues as well as the cultural assumptions and biases underlying research paradigms.
