On October 15th, a crowd estimated at up to 500 took the streets of downtown Calgary taking aim at what protestors say is a growing inequality between the rich and the poor. The peaceful event drew people of all ages who had a variety of reasons for attending. Media reports indicate that the protest included students, workers, and social activists. The crowd gathered at Bankers Hall before marching down Stephen Avenue to Olympic Park where they collected for a rally. The movement began on Wall Street back in September. It has gained momentum and is becoming a global movement with peaceful sit-ins being staged at strategic locations across Canada and around the world.
