Graduate Advising in Calgary

Student Advisors are available to assist students with program planning, course selection and registration, and to answer questions related to academic regulations and degree requirements.

Prospective students:

  • By Appointment
    Appointments can be made by using the online booking system, available via the Faculty of Social Work website: http://fsw.ucalgary.ca Go to the Undergraduate Advising or Graduate Advising link under “Quick Links”.
  • Drop–In
    Students can drop by the Student Services office in Calgary, during advising hours.

    Advising Hours: Monday-Friday, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

The preferred and fastest way to get your questions answered is to email us or schedule an appointment.

In-program students:

The workload of the two graduate program advisors in Student Services (Calgary office) has been structured in the following manner:

Marion Jaffray (mjaffray@ucalgary.ca):
-    PhD program
-    2-year MSW Calgary program
-    Post-Master Diploma program
-    Scholarships (including graduate scholarships/awards and undergraduate faculty awards)
-    Registrations through the Western Deans’ Agreement

Appointments are available Monday to Friday, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm in 15 minute blocks.
You will receive a confirmation notice, and a reminder. You may also cancel online, enter confidential remarks in the comment field, and then provide feedback on your advising experience.
