You will need to complete two applications to be considered for the BSW program or the Virtual Learning Circle program in Calgary.
Part 1: A description of your reasons for applying to the BSW program
Part 2: A discussion and analysis of a current social problem
For an effective and unified essay, we suggest that you bridge your reasons for applying (part 1) to the social problem of your choice (part 2). Your essay will be evaluated for clarity, content, and writing ability.
Post Diploma Transfer Applicants (Diploma obtained within the last five years):
- Download the reference form and obtain a reference from your social work diploma field instructor of record.
All other Applicants:
- Download the reference form and obtain three references.

There is a field on the online FSW application to include a resume or list of relevant experience.
If you are not a current University of Calgary student, you need to submit your official high school transcript and all post secondary transcripts. All transcripts should be mailed directly to the main admissions office.
